Living legend Carlos Santana is a Mexican rock guitarist and is famous for his blues base melodic guitar playing. He is superior in blues-jazz-rock fusion. His band is named “ Santana ” which became popular in 60’s and in early 70’s. The “ Santana ” band composes their song mainly based on Latin and African rhythms using timbales, congas etc which was unorthodox in rock music. Carlos Santana has won a lots of awards which includes awards like Grammy Awards, Latin Grammy Awards, Grammy Hall of Fame, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Latin Grammy Hall of Fame, NAACP Image Hall of Fame and many more.
His best selling album “ Supernatural ” was released in 2000 which was sold more than 27 million copies worldwide and considered as the best selling Latin album of all time. The “ Supernatural ” album won 8 Grammy Awards in the year 2000 and it is listed in Guinness Book of World Records for Most Grammy Awards won for a single album in a single year by a single artist! The category were: Record of the year, Best pop collaboration with vocals, Album of the year, Best rock album, Best pop performance, Best pop instrumental performance, Best rock instrumental performance and Best rock vocal performance. Simply unbelievable!
